A Bit About Me
Hi!
My name is Joel, but all my students call me Jojo∼
I was born in Melbourne, (Australia) and lived in a town called Werribee.
The first time I visited Japan was in 2011, and I have fallen in love with the country ever since.
I have been living and teaching English in Japan since 2015. I first stayed in Sapporo, then moved to Tokyo. I married and moved to Shizuoka-ken and now have children growing up in Japan.
I love the outdoors, so I would also love to organize some events at a park or going and doing some activities with any students who are interested! I look forward to talking and meeting with all of you.

Officially opened and started building Alder Academy with the hopes of providing affordable English to motivated students.
Moved to Shizuoka and continued to work at a conversation school whilst building and then running his own English school.
Moved to Tokyo and soon after became the area manager of an English conversation school with locations in Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Yokohama etc. He was overseeing more than 30 foreign instructors and over 2000 students across his area.
Worked in Sapporo as a snowmobile instructor during the day at a local mountain, and an English teacher for group and private lessons at night.
Worked at an After School Program for an Elementary School outside of Melbourne for 8 years. After graduating university in Melbourne, he moved to Sapporo, Japan in October of 2015.
